Welcome, welcome! So you wanted to learn more about me, Polly, aka The Purple Princess, eh? Well, alright then...
I was born in Michigan City, Indiana on July 6, 1965. I've been living here in Boca Raton Florida since 1985, and I like it, but do tend to miss the change of seasons, especially fall and spring. I want to move out west to Utah or Montana some day.
I'm single, and I have one brother, Jason, who, sadly died at the age of 22. I'm still at home with my parents, and don't mind that a bit! :)
I'm a through and through cat lover, and have two cats, Pearl and Pyewacket who are the joys of my life. The breed of my cats is Devon Rex.
I am a travel agent, and love getting out and seeing the world! I do that from home, and also work at Walgreens part time. I'm still looking for a position in an agency full time.
I enjoy scrapbooking, crafts, collecting, computers and the internet. Believe it or not, creating these pages is a release for me, and I find it relaxing. :)
I love to sing, and have taken some lessons. I am a soprano. I will probably end up getting some further vocal coaching because I want to develop that a little more.
Now about those Osmonds.... :) I've been a fan since the age of five, when I first heard "One Bad Apple" on the car radio. Mom tells me I kept telling her to 'play it again', but she couldn't of course, with it being the radio and all! Haha! But that is when I recieved my very first 45 record, yep, you guessed it, One Bad Apple, and a Close 'N Play (remember those??) record player of my very own to play it on!
Around the same time, I started loving the Beatles as well, Ringo being a particular favorite. And when I found out his birthday was July 7... well, it's no wonder then, is it? :)
Besides the Osmonds and the Beatles, my musical taste is all over the place. I love many artists/bands in many different genres of music. Some of the other singers/musicians/bands I love(in no particular order): Tom Petty , Stevie Nicks , Sarah McLachlan, Eric Clapton, Kiss (my brother and I were admittedly in the Kiss Army back in the 70s and I still enjoy the band), George Michael (I just love his voice, fell in love with him in the Wham! days), Savage Garden (I was hooked ever since I heard the song "I Want You" for the first time a couple of years ago), Led Zeppelin, The Who (Led Zep and The Who as well as the Stones were always playing in the house growing up for as long as I can remember so I have an affinity for these bands, besides, they just downright kick!!) , The Rolling Stones, John Mellencamp (a fellow Hoosier!), Alanis Morissette, Stevie Wonder, The Bee Gees, Sarah Brightman (the voice of an angel... she blows me away!), Aerosmith (my uncle got me into these guys when I was in junior high), TLC , The Eagles, The Doors, Queen, Amy Grant, Brian McKnight, REM, Madonna, Lenny Kravitz and oh so many more!!
My favorite composers on the classical front are Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven and Bach.
Constantly in my CD player at the moment: "Supernatural" by Santana (I LOVE the song "Smooth"!), Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers Greatest Hits (or "Wildflowers" whichever I'm in the mood for), "Fumbling Toward Ecstacy" by Sarah McLachlan, "The Best That I Could Do" which is John Mellencamp's greatest hits, "Song Review" Stevie Wonder's greatest hits, and "Jagged Little Pill" by Alanis Morissette.
Some of my favorite things:
Actor(s):
Johnny Depp, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Jim Carrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr (such a tragedy, I do hope he gets his life back as he's got such an immense talent), Aidan Quinn, Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins.
Actress(es):
Meryl Streep, Sissy Spacek, Jessica Lange, Gwyneth Paltrow, Neve Campbell, Reese Witherspoon, Kirsten Dunst, Sally Field, Meg Ryan. I also love those old Bette Davis movies especially "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" and "Dark Victory".
My favorite movie of all time is "Gone With The Wind", and I also love "The Wizard Of Oz", "Titanic", "Interview With A Vampire", "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil"... I just love movies and have too many that I love to list here. Recently saw "The Green Mile" and thought it was quite good.
Favorite car: One That Runs! HA!

Flower: Gardenia
TV Shows: Donny and Marie (duh again!), Seinfeld reruns, Friends, Party Of Five, 7th Heaven, The Simpsons, I Love Lucy reruns, watching TV Land and Nick At Nite,and I've also been getting into "Buffy The Vampire Slayer".
I love to read, and one of my favorite authors is Stephen King. That is one author that's kept me awake into the wee hours on more than one occasion! "It" is my favorite King novel.
I also love "The Hobbit" and the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, and love Lewis Carroll's work, "Alice In Wonderland" "Through The Looking Glass" . I love poetry, as well. Don't have a favorite poet, though.
I am a fledgling songwriter, have a couple of lyrics written, but am not ready to share them with the world just yet! :)
Well, hope this gives you a little insight into who I am, and again, I'm glad you came by. I hope you enjoyed your visit here in The Donny Zone and will come back again very soon!
